Special COVID-19 Update

These are unprecedented times. Many people are anxious, fearful and distracted. I encourage everyone to be prudent, use social distance, self-isolate if necessary, and wash hands regularly. Please take care of yourselves, your families and anyone who is vulnerable in health.

As an immediate response, we will cancel our midweek bible study for the next several weeks. I am posting daily prayers on the St. Luke's Church Facebook page. Here's the link. https://www.facebook.com/St-Lukes-Christian-Community-Church-Morton-Grove-118984294779501/

Like many organizations and faith communities, St. Luke’s Church is attempting to respond to the COVID-19 (coronavirus) outbreak in our area. We’re taking a posture of awareness, and not panic. At this point, I am planning on having a brief service in our sanctuary on Sunday, March 22 from 10 am to about 10:30. We will continue to be a light for our community, and a source of prayer and pastoral care for anyone who needs it (while keeping a distance of several feet, of course!). I will have hand sanitizer available, too.

If anyone would like prayer, you certainly may contact me at the St. Luke's Church Facebook page, or email me at elizajon@aol.com.

*We are a people who seek a relationship with God, empowered by the Spirit, through Jesus Christ.

*We are a people who believe that God seeks us, reveals Himself to us, and comes to us through Jesus in Word and in Sacrament.

*We are a people who welcome and affirm all persons as already in the body of Christ.

*We are a people who work for justice and advocate for the poor, the hungry, the downtrodden and the marginalized.

*We are a people who see the Person of Christ in all people, as He invites us to embrace and to serve one another.

*We are a people who invite you to worship God with us and work in His Kingdom.
