ABOUT US

“For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.” – Ephesians 2:10

St. Luke's Christian Community Church is a church with roots in the Lutheran faith expression, where people find support from one another, resources in faith, meaningful service and leadership, and freedom to discover Christ in their lives. We believe in God the Father Who is the Author of all, in Jesus Christ, the Son of God Who lives and reigns having conquered sin and death for our salvation, and in the Holy Spirit Who blesses us and empowers us to serve God and all persons.

The people of St. Luke's grow in faith through study of the Bible, through an openness to God's leading, in prayer and care for one another, and by the nurture of the Sacraments of Baptism and Holy Communion.

The Covenant affirms that there is freedom in discerning God's purposes in our life. This freedom is to follow Christ as the Spirit leads, bound not by law but by love. This love is first from God, expressed through the Son, Jesus, Who teaches us that we are to love God and neighbor with all that is in us. It is the demands of this "Love Command" that drive our worship, our fellowship, and our service to the community.

St. Luke's is a diverse and vibrant congregation with dedicated and affirming members who believe that welcoming all people strengthens our bonds of love. We see Christ as the Head of the Church, the One Who provides myriad opportunities for learning, growth, discernment, and liberty of conscience.

"In essentials, unity. In non-essentials, charity. In all things, Jesus Christ."

- Chrysostom
